The Western New York Gluten Free Diet Support Group monthly meetings are held once a month on a Saturday morning at the Mount Mercy Academy, 88 Red Jacket Parkway just off of Abbott Road in South Buffalo near Mercy Hospital (in the basement).  The meetings begin at 10:00 a.m., however frequently we have vendors at our meetings selling gluten free baked goods, mixes, and such so you may want to come a few minutes early.  Our meetings typically run 1 ½ hours to 2 hours.

 

Each month we discuss a topic of interest to the Celiac community and usually have a speaker from the Western NY community. In addition, we also have available at our monthly meetings a lending library from which you may borrow various publications (members only), cookbooks and other books on Celiac Disease, gluten free cooking, and other issues related to gluten intolerance.  We are also fortunate to have a wealth of publications available for you to pick up and take home for free!  The free handouts are on a variety of subjects and issues that relate to the gluten free diet and Celiac disease.  Several cookbooks and other resource materials are offered for sale at each meeting at a discounted price.  All of these offerings add up to lots of benefits for those of you with Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance. If that's not enough, remember that there are always plenty of homemade Gluten-Free goodies at our meetings. See you at the next meeting!

January 19, 2008: Come to our first meeting of the new year and hear Virginia Lyons, R.N. speak about Planning your doctor visit and general health issues.

February 16, 2008: Howard Lippes, M.D. - Endocrinologist will speak about Celiac disease, A case study.

March 15, 2008:  Sylvia Regalla, M.D. is the director of Nutris HealthWorks and will speak about The effects of celiac disease on the body. *Please note - the Pancake breakfast has been rescheduled for June.

April 12 - speaker to be annouced

May 17 - Look for more info - but keep this date on your calendars for the 2008 Celiac Walk!

June 14 - Pnacake Breakfast and final meeting before the summer. Come join us for a delightful morning. More details will follow.
